Wiley's Model Decals

Turning a hobby into a business.

In April 2025, I relaunched my online store under the name- Wiley's Model Decals, where I design and produce waterslide decals for commercially available Star Trek model kits. Each product page contains photos of completed builds, the decal set for sale and a downloadable illustrated placement guide.

As a Star Trek fan, I've created an extensive library of reference photos, some from the designers who have worked on the series, to ensure the upmost accuracy in my artwork.

The process of creating a decal set is a laborious process. This involves hand tracing the model kit, scanning the tracings and designing in Adobe Illustrator. With the combination of vector graphics and laser printing, I can produce a high-detail, high quality product. Each graphical element is also numbered to make use of an extensive placement guide to aid the builder. Before a product release, I produce a completed, painted buildup of a kit to identify any remaining design issues.

I ship internationally and respond quickly to customer's messages in case anything arises. I enjoy receiving feedback from hobbyists in and seeing their excitement by surpassing their expectations.
